In landscape photography, imagination is the key to unlocking new perspectives that often are overlooked. On the surface, “Beyond” appears to be merely a fishing pier. A look beneath reveals a green, feathery carpet of water that takes us past our starfish host and into the light Beyond. In essence, that is my world. My life consists of observing and creating from spectacular light shows nature displays at rare moments in time. Capturing great reflective light transforms a normal photograph into a timeless image.
Jeff Mitchum is one of the great American and international landscape photographers who rose to success in the recent years. He is often described as the “Ansel Adams of color” in the fine art photography world. Self taught, Mitchum is known for his compositional mastery and the keynotes in his work are the use of natural light and subject matter. His aesthetic is simple – to capture the stunning beauty of nature and dramatic landscape and bring it to people’s everyday lives.
