If there were eight wonders of the world, Yosemite would earn its place on the list. It is mesmerizing in every way. Yosemite has great balance: Spring runoffs and giant raging waterfalls. Subtle, delicate life coupled with large, massive animals. It is a place of both mystery and untold beauty. Winter is my favorite time to visit Yosemite for solitude. I was aware of this composition for years but the snow was never quite right, never fully blanketing the trees. I finally found what I was looking for on a cold morning with breaking clouds after a night of heavy snowfall. Within an hour, the snow had fallen off half the trees.
