Digital retouch and scanning make this series a meeting point between two worlds; the organic one and the digital one. Just as the hermaphroditic condition of flowers suggests the joining of opposites in self-becoming. Digital glitches and dust grains purposely outline this contrast. The title was inspired by the fresco of a garden in Livia’s garden room found in a roman villa near Prima Porta. The name Livia also wants to evoke a feminine’s spirit, perhaps that of Mother Nature.
