ARCHITECTURE: INTERIORS This series, MOMA Perspectives, seeks to capture the unexpected openness and simplicity of MOMA’s horizontal and vertical spatial relationships, the straight sight lines of its geometry and its use of right angles almost everywhere to create exciting vistas. My approach uses angles, reflections and asymmetries to explore place, scale and perspective in images whose features often morph onto the picture plane to encompass the entire photograph and also to capture the feeling of seeing the museum like an architect’s scale model. Most of these images incorporate characteristics of the Photorealism art movement of the 60s and 70s. For example, each of these scenes is packed with floods of sharp detail that tie together the images on the picture plane with those in deep perspective.
