Story

The biblical Tower of Babel, built on the area of today's Iraq, was a symbol of the pride of the people who built it to look God in the face. God confused their languages so scattered throughout the world, unable to finish the job. Inability to communicate, intolerance and lack of understanding of human diversity stigmatized the history of civilization for millenia. The twentieth century is one of the most tragic periods of the history. Although the term has come to an end in chronological order, from a historical perspective is still ongoing - just to mention contemporary events in Iraq or Ukraine. We are all aware that the need for a special event, which will close this period also from the horrors that were committed there.
In May this year, when people from all over the world, speaking different languages, gathered in the St. Peter's Square in Rome: in a community agreement, in the joy of faith and tolerance of diversity, I felt it was one of those special moments for which we wait. Silhouettes of people sleeping next to each other, praying and celebrating together formed an image of hope. And as hope I convey this image to the world.
Series was created in the square of St. Peter's in Rome during the canonization of John Paul II and Pope John XXIII.
