Through this project ‘8am, 8pm’, I try to build a bridge from the outside word towards my personal inner/spirit world. I photographed the people who have similar experiences as myself, who are living and studying or working in a foreign country. I talk about how to immerse oneself into another culture, how much a struggle it is. Because of globalization, people encounter the strangeness of being in a different country but having cities share the similar characters of modern urban conglomerations. This kind of feeling has been leading me to explore the difference and disconnection between the physical or geographical world and the inner self, and with it the blurry identity and the definitions of the home.
