The North Narrabeen Boardriders Club is one of the oldest surf club in Australia, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2014. Some of the world most famous surfers came from this club and/or area. Every month, they are running a contest with surfers from all ages, from 8yo to seniors and women tend to participate more than before. This picture is part of a series shot during a recent contest.
Born in Paris, France, Sébastien came to photography via a circuitous route. Torn between his love of literature and his curiosity about the physical world, he initially studied maths and physics, while doing odd jobs to make end meets. Sébastien saw the world through a lens for the first time during a post-university road trip across the United States and returned to Paris determined to make photography his career. He started out by assisting several world-class still life and portrait photographers before setting up on his own in the late 1990s. Since then, he has undertaken a range of personal projects focusing in particular on people and their day to day lives. Whether he's shooting miners in the outback or the CEO of a multinational company, Sébastien always leverages his intuition and experience to get the best result. He has been commissioned by some of the world's leading ad agencies and received accolades in photographic competitions around the globe. After living for three years in Sydney, Australia, Sébastien returned to France in 2014 with his Australian wife and their two sons.
