The lost ilusion of millions of undocumented persons that find themeselves lost in Mexican territory, are shatter as they become victims of sexual abuse or accidents during the hard journey to U.S. Migrants that decide to run away from their homes due to economy failure, or gangs that rules Central America, as well as the lack of oportunities to develope a better social. The project does not only refer to the search of the "american dream" is the failure of an intend to have a better life, the unfulfilled dream and future of those that had made this journey.
This proyect pretends that society be aware of the other realities that migrants are subject to, those migrants that can not furfill the American Dream. A glimpse to the human failure that more and more humands live in the intend to reach the United States. The lost ilusion of millions of undocumented persons that find themeselves lost in Mexican territory, are shatter as they become victims of sexual abuse or accidents during the hard journey to a better life. Migrants that decide to run away from their homes due to economy failure, or gangs that rules all of Central America, as well as the lack of oportunities to develope a better social status or simply to follow a relative that was able to cross the borders to a better economy and social status. Mens, womans traveling alone as well as children, old peole; they decided to try that search for a better future or simply for survival. They come from Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua with their only destiny on their minds to be "the other side" how it is called in the south borders of Mexico. For others their destiny is found in Mexico, a hostil place, violent, cruel and insensible to the migrant subject that residents of Mexico are not aware nor victim of, being the migrants subject to practices where they are exploted, discriminated and abuse in activities so equal as those in slavery and barbarism. Its the history of failure, of the contempt link to the abuse of their human rights of the ones that arent able to reach their destiny becoming in victims of all forms of vexations and humiliations from migrants authorities to gangs like Maras Salvatruchas and other locals. we can find as well the history of the one that has cross several times and keeps on trying over and over even when they have being deported already. They find themselves also as victims of the "beast" a cargo train that crosses Mexico and its their only oportunity to get closer to the US. This "beast" is their ilusion train, that fleeting hope of a better life but its also the one that devors arms and legs of migrants that travel on the top of the train so they dont have to pay a fee to the gangs members or they can jump and run away from the "migra" "Al otro lado del sueno" shows the other face of Central America Migration and the enormous price that has to be paid in search of a good job and a better future, where we can see the evidence of the huge and painfull insensibility of the mexican border. The other side of the dream does not only refer to the search of the "american dream" is the failure of an intend to have a better life, the unfulfilled dream and future of those that had made this journey.
