In a forest where the beech is the dominant species of tree, one can find during the month of May a great wild flower phenomenon is on the doorstep of Brussels, a particular pleasant atmosphere. Millions of Blue Bells (Hyacinthoides sp.) spreading in all directions creating a blue carpet in a breathtaking scenery. The bluebells are the stars of the show, but look out for many other wild flowers like the star-shaped white flowers of ramsons or wild garlic, which you will probably smell before seeing.
