In a forest where the beech is the dominant species of tree, one can find during the month of May a great wild flower phenomenon is on the doorstep of Brussels, a particular pleasant atmosphere. Millions of Blue Bells (Hyacinthoides sp.) spreading in all directions creating a blue carpet in a breathtaking scenery. The bluebells are the stars of the show, but look out for many other wild flowers like the star-shaped white flowers of ramsons or wild garlic, which you will probably smell before seeing. This image reminds me of the enchanted forest of the "Lord of the Ring" movie that its known as the "Gardens of Lòrien".
