I started this project trying to find beauty in areas that typically would be considered void of beauty. Beauty is everywhere, if you look for it. For the challenge, I looked to industrial areas because they are the underbelly of the modern world. Society would like to block out these areas and pretend they do not exist. Even in these hostile environments, there is an element of beauty. I am interested in the irony between their unnatural beauty and the impact they have on the planet. At night, a factory can be a dynamic place exhaling steam, releasing molten steel, or burning flames. With the right conditions, I am able to capture a factory on film and make it feel like it is alive and breathing.
