Vanuatu, an archipelago of over 80 volcanic islands in the western South Pacific, is the home to a rich Melanesian culture, where each tribal group has its own identity, dialect, customs and artwork. Strong Christian heritage interweaves with magic rituals and animistic cults. The pictures were taken on Pentecost Island, where the natives practice an ancient tradition of naghol - jumping from high towers with lianas wrapped around ankles. The sport is believd to be the predecessor of the modern bungee jumping.
