Laying, prowling, standing, and galloping, animals are revealed in their native domain. They form patterns with their surroundings and in some cases their appearance holds a pattern of its own. Yet each animal is a distinct entity, serenely conspicuous against the backdrop of Tanzania. In motion and at rest, the animals embody a calm visage that seems to emanate from a sense of ease with the encircling habitat. For a moment the viewer can forget that not every animal is at the top of the food chain, and absorb the equilibrium of tranquility between the animals and their environments.
