This iconic Tuscan farmhouse - "The Belvedare" - has appeared in many photos and postcards of Tuscany and symbolises the famous countryside of the Val D'Orica. Having seen this scene many times, I longed to visit the region and capture its exquisite natural beauty. This shot is one of many I took on a solo photography trip to the region, hiring a car in Sienna and driving south to the small town of San Quirico d'Orcia, where I based myself for a week. This shot is a composite of several taken on a morning in mid-May.
