Many of the urban poor in Manila have difficulties finding places to live and many of them live in extreme poverty. Some of the luckier ones will find themselves living in squatter communities in cemeteries among the coffins and crypts of the dead. They form tight knit communities helping each other out during the more difficult time as they try to find a better future for their children. The cemetery and the coffins become the playground and jungle gym for the children living there. It is sad that in a country like the Philippines, the little Tiger as economists calls it, there are people that have to live among the dead. As the standard of living of the rising middle class takes off, it is really up to the government working alongside NGOs' to make sure people do not get left behind in an even worst condition as the rest of the population races ahead.
