It is estimated that close to 6% of Syrian refugees living in Jordan and Lebanon have suffered life altering injuries as a result of the ongoing civil war (almost 85,000 individuals from the overall displaced population.) 1 in 4 of those injured will face permanent disability and many of those injured are under the age of 21. Handicap International is an international aid agency providing care management for injured and handicapped civilians impacted by conflict and natural Disasters. It has been actively working to rehabilitate Syrian refugees, living within Jordan, since the summer of 2012.
