These photographs are a continuation of a series done in collaboration with Food Stylist, Charlotte Omnès. We began inspired by Robert Ryman’s paintings and decided to explore other artists using food as the medium. We studied various painters and how they applied paint to their canvas using this as inspiration for manipulating the food. By approaching these items as texture, shape and form rather than something edible, changes the perspective of the viewer. They are no longer a food item with appetite appeal but become a graphic composition of shapes and forms, achieving a whimsical sense and reflection of what is usually done in the art world created by using food.
