Most roads in Madagascar are routes leading through the bush and vast meadows. Following one of them, I finally reached a small town. The closer to the settlement, the more people I met along the muddy road. My attention was caught by a woman carrying her purse on her head, with an elegantly packed umbrella. In her hands she cradled a small child, and her ability to carry luggage in an unusual way turned out to be very useful.
