As one of the descendants of the Russian Mennonites who today live in Germany, I wanted to portrait children and young adults, who aren't married yet. My journey soon took me to my roots in the village Petrowka, Omsk Oblast in Sibiria. The average age to enter into marriage is between 18 and 25. I was fascinated by their strong believe and modest way of life. There is something innocent about the stadium before they start a family with up to twelve children. In large families where the single one never stands out, I tried to show them as individuals.
