The Kenyans is an exploration of Kenya through landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and still life photography. These images showcase people, locations and environment that define the present Kenyan society, such as cramped slums, multi-cultural cities, semi-nomadic villages and vanishing villages. Alternating between city and countryside, I attempt to investigate what it means to be uniquely Kenyan in a country with a variety of ethnic and cultural diversity and a growing disparity between tradition and modernity.
