IPA around the World: Recap of the 2023 Winners Exhibitions

The International Photography Awards (IPA) 2023 winners have taken the art world by storm with their exceptional talent and creativity. To celebrate their achievements, IPA organized several prestigious exhibitions, kicking off with the IPA 20’th Anniversary celebration at the Splashlight Studios in New York City and following in Budapest, Athens, and Ostuni at the esteemed House of Lucie galleries.

The 20th anniversary celebration of IPA reached its pinnacle at the Winner’s Weekend hosted at Splashlight Studios in New York City. The event saw the presentation of awards, engaging speeches, and a symposium featuring discussions on AI in photography led by the IPA jury. The evening concluded with a vibrant cocktail party, allowing attendees to mingle, pose with their awards at Splashlight’s photo booth, and admire the winning artwork adorning the walls. From the pool of winners, the most exceptional photographers were selected by curator Susan Baraz for the prestigious ‘Best of Show’ designation. These images exemplify the diverse talent and dedication displayed by photographers worldwide.

Budapest Exhibition: In Budapest, photography enthusiasts had the opportunity to witness the brilliance of the IPA 2023 winners. The exhibition, which ran from March 1st to March 31st, showcased the first and second prize winners across various categories, complemented by the Best of Show curated selection by Susan Baraz. The opening event on February 29th at 19:00 marked the beginning of a month-long celebration of photographic excellence at the House of Lucie Budapest.

Athens Exhibition: Partnering with sister organization Prix de la Photographie Paris (Px3), IPA brought the 2023 Px3 winners to the House of Lucie Athens. The grand opening on March 15th featured stunning works from some of the best student and professional photographers worldwide. The exhibition, which concluded on March 25th, offered a diverse range of genres, from advertising to fine art, nature, and portrait photography. Special emphasis was placed on the Photographer of the Year and Best New Talent winners, captivating the Athens art community with its breadth and quality.

Ostuni Exhibition: In the picturesque setting of Ostuni, Italy, the House of Lucie hosted the “Best of Show 2023” exhibition. Showcasing the category winners and a curated selection by guest curator Susan Baraz, this exhibition highlighted the exceptional talents of 22 contemporary photographers. From February 3rd, the opening event, to the closing day, the House of Lucie Ostuni became a hub of photographic inspiration, attracting art enthusiasts from near and far to marvel at the exquisite imagery on display.
