Alexis Tjian - Dwell Magazine

Alexis Tjian is the assistant photo editor at Dwell, where she assigns stories to photographers, art directs unique photo shoots, and gathers and edits photos for the pages of the magazine.  Tjian joined the Dwell team as an intern in the magazine’s photography department in 2006 and became a full-time staff member in 2007. Though she studied marine biology for her undergraduate degree at the University of California Los Angeles, a post-graduation summer traveling through Europe convinced her to pursue her true passion: photography. Tjian enrolled in the photo program at the California College of the Arts and graduated with a bachelor’s of fine arts degree in 2006. When not working with noted photographers and contributing to the creative process at Dwell, she continues to shoot as a freelance photographer. Tjian lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, Rob, and their dog, Vergil—of whom she’s been know to take one too many photos.
