Dawn Whitmore is a freelance photo editor and exhibition planner based in Washington, DC. In addition, she is a photographer and artist whose work focuses on identity, gender and technology. She currently holds a studio residency at the Arlington Arts Center in Virginia.
Prior to embarking on her path as a professional artist, Dawn worked for numerous magazines and organizations including ARTnews, Barnes & Noble Publishing and the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP). Leading a freelance life has enabled her to work with a variety of clients, photographers and filmmakers. When not in the studio, Dawn is often working with various animal rights and conservation groups. She will be traveling to rural Thailand this October to shoot a documentary story on stray dogs and the monastery that opened it's doors to help the cause.
