Nan Oshin has extensive experience in creative direction, design and consulting, most recently as the Art Director at the Los Angeles Times Sunday Magazine. Her freelance clients have included Billboard Magazine, the Carlyle Hotel, the Capital Group, the Oracle Corporation, the Ritz Carlton Hotel Corporation, Warner Brothers, and WW Norton. Prior to the Los Angeles Times Magazine, she art directed San Francisco Focus Magazine, an award winning city magazine. Nan began her career designing at GQ magazine.
Additionally she taught photography at Art Center College of Design in California for a decade and served as the Co-Chair of the Photography Department for three years, where she oversaw the redesign of the undergraduate curriculum. Nan has won awards for art direction and design, including awards from American Photography, American Illustration, CMYK, Communication Arts, Photo District News, the AIGA, the Los Angeles Press Club, the Society of News Designers, the Society of Publication Designers, and the Western Publishing Association, and has juried and curated photography and design competitions and shows for Communication Arts Magazine, MOPLA, Photo District News, PX3, the APA, the IPA, the Palm Springs Photography Festival, the Society of Publication Designers, the Spotlight Awards, and Women in Design.
