Jocelyn Phillips joined Bonhams Auctioneers in 2009 to head its new Department of Photographs in London. Prior to this she had spent over five years in the auction world at Sotheby’s, working on single owner sales of the collections of Dr William K Ehrenfeld and Marie-Thérèse & Andre Jammes and gaining in- depth knowledge of 19th century photography to add to her experience of modern and contemporary photographic prints.
Since joining Bonhams she has secured a selling exhibition of David Bailey’s photographs of the 1960s, held at the Bond Street galleries March-April 2010. The department’s inaugural auction was held in May 2010.
Jocelyn is also the author of Collect Contemporary Photography, published in 2012 by Thames and Hudson.
