About Photographer

Kyle was born in Flushing Michigan in 1985. He graduated high school in 2003 and went directly to the United States Military Academy in West Point New York where he majored in Military History. Upon his graduation in May 2007 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. He was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Division from November 2008-November 2009, and is now stationed in South Korea. Having only taken a dark room class in high school Kyle is almost completely self-taught. He has honed his skills in his travel around the world, and his adventures at home. He was a photographer for The Howitzer, West Point’s year book. A self professed adventurer, Kyle has been to 33 countries on five continents. Kyle carried his cameras all the way up Mount Kilimanjaro in April 2009 while on his mid tour leave from Iraq. He also braved hail, sleet, and 36 foot seas at the bow of the ship he was on to capture images while he rounded Cape Horn in December 2009. Kyle now resides in South Korea where, as a newly promoted Captain, he works as a staff officer.
