Vimal and Meenakshi find solace in each other's company at the female ward of a mental asylum in Delhi, India. There are several long-stay women patients in asylums across India. Due to mental illness being a social taboo, some of these women, despite having recovered from the illness, have been long forgotten by their family members. They continue to stay here for decades, finding peace in other’s words and hugs. The solitary confined walls of these asylums have a life of their own. The patients, somehow, have the sense of understanding for each other’s misery – an honest effort to love and empathize with each other’s condition is made. The gloomy, dark and horrifying stories of their past is always filled with a silver lining of a hopeful future. A future where they are accepted.
