In India, accepting food prepared by another person is perceived as an homogenizing act, as well as a form of personal solidarity. Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is one of the nine historical Gurdwaras in Delhi. In this place, dozens of volunteers work every day of the year in its Langar to cater food for more than 20 thousand people a day who come for shelter, worship or just to visit. People from all faiths, and those who do not profess any faith, are welcomed in Sikh gurdwaras.
