Winter landscapes in Alaska are filled with incredible natural beauty. Trees are laden with fresh fallen snow and the cold arctic air preserves this winter wonderland. While atop Mt. Alyeska one December evening, the sun had already set leaving the smell of smoke in the air, drifting from the ski resort nearby while the evening lights began casting shadows upon the trees. Stars too began to make their early appearance in the dusk filled sky. I captured this image with my Canon 5D Digital Camera with a Tamron 17-35mm f2.8 Wide Angle lens on a Bogen Tripod with manfrotto Head.
