This series is something I did to showcase the current worlds state of mind within the past 5 years in respect to the environment. There is such a controversy as to why the climate is changing, but really the important part is how we are changing because of it. Our adaption to these changes is a key component to human evolution.

Story

In today’s day and age there are so many controversies on the climate change. People exclaim that it’s because of human air pollution, the coming doomsday, or the simple cycle of the earth. What matters is not the controversy or whose fault it is, but the general realization that something in the atmosphere is changing. In order for humans to grow, we must be in tune with what the earth is doing at all times, as we are. This realization has created a better respect for the environment and our resources, from alternate forms of energy, more efficient vehicles, better use of materials, and more. These changes are all a part of human progress. The images in the series “Breathe” convey an outlook to our future. Not necessarily a literal interpretation, but the basic idea that we must adapt to this change and be ready for what is to come, whatever it may be. They are to represent the world’s current state of mind: change, prevention, caution, or preparation. So whether we as humans created a part in this environmental tragedy or not, what is important is the adaptation in our thinking, the evolution of technology, and overall awareness of our actions. We are learning how to let the earth breathe, in order to allow us to breathe ourselves.
