The submission photograph 'A Sheet Of Metal Floated By...' is a still image from American artist Miya Ando`s and Thomas Kruesselmann`s multimedia piece (photo, video, metal wall work) entitled "Tsuru No Ongaeshi", ("The Return of 'ON' [Gratitude] of the Crane" which is derived from a classic and well-loved Japanese Children's Fairy Tale. Together this art duo is interested in reinterpreting and re-appropriating history into the contemporary art realm...both ancient history and history that is created in every immediate moment that has passed.
