Marine Veteran John Neilko keeps 450 special specie pigeons, and spends most of his time and income on the dying hobby of pigeon fancying. Battles are waged over head between owners of neighboring coups, as each fancier tries to maintain his numbers while catching the birds of rival coups. Other elements like weather, migration, predators and random bird behavior also contribute the fluctuation in numbers. All the while, rapid gentrification throughout Brooklyn and high real estate prices endanger the sport in general.
