California's massive water-works transformed the State into an agricultural Eden that provides one-quarter of the Nation's fruits and vegetables. However, consequence of this large-scale manipulation of nature are increasingly difficult to manage. Declining fish stocks and depleted reservoirs, combined with increasing demand for water and decreasing rainfall, threaten the stability of California's agricultural sector and it's environment.
