Kibera, the second larget slum in Africa, is home to over one million Kenyans. In December 2007 and January 2008, thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed in a wave of tribal violence surrounding the rigged presidential elections. Over the last two years, grassroots initiatives have begun to improve the quality of life for those living in the direst of conditions, but for many, the damage is still evident.
