This self portrait is part of a long-term project about utopian idealism and personal identity in the U.S. It was shot on a Holga at the Little Swan Creek, a small Tennessee tributary near where I spent my childhood in a utopian community. I return to the land each summer with my camera, using it as a tool to explore the notions of longing, identity and belonging.
