Since the late 1960's, Telegraph Ave - a four block commercial strip on the south side of the University of California in Berkeley, CA - has been a magnet for street kids, travelers, squatters, and gutter punks. Coconut, sixteen, has been a homeless street kid on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley, CA, since the age of eleven. A self-proclaimed alcoholic, he has been drinking since the age of six. Along with other street kids and travelers, he sleeps in an illegal squat house, a foreclosed home in a densely populated neighborhood, on the south side of Berkeley.
