I wanted this shot to be like a scene within a scene. Instead of the arch being the star of the shot, I wanted it to be part of the perfect frame. This is one of those photographs that the longer you look at it, the more you will see. The snow-capped peaks in the distance have an almost mystical feel about them and the light of sunrise added the perfect glow to the arch and the canyon mesas. It’s almost a halo effect. This piece reminds me of how vast nature is and how small we are in it.
