    Blind shoots in polyptich form

This series of photographs, taken with a 15mm super wide angle lens from the waist level without looking through the viewfinder, is intended to obtain the candid face impressions, body postures and avoid deceitful manifestations of people’s idealized images. The proposed 5-photo sequencing in the form of polyptychs aims to group different people of similar states in the cycle of life. The presently much ominous notion of surveillance, violation of personal privacy in the name of security, disturbing presence of the excessive numbers of CCTV cameras constitute the other important aspect of this study. As the aim was to capture people’s genuine modus vivendi, the photography had to be carried out without the subjects’ consciousness. This act of clandestine recording reminds ‘big brother’s surveillance technique (or Google Street View application); yet it ends up as the artist’s appropriation of this technique, not to safeguard the imposed notion of security, but to remind individual insecurity that we develop against the brutal measures of the so-called state security.
