This series features mangrove estuaries located in the Canal del Infiernillo (Xepe Coosot, Little Hell Channel), Gulf of California, Mexico. Sacred to the indigenous Comcaac Tribe and recently designated as a RAMSAR sight, this unique ecosystem continues to be threatened by the Nautical Stairway, overfishing, poaching, and toxic particulates from the nearby thermoelectric plant. These images are part of a long-term personal project documenting the Comcaac and their territory.
