Dora and Giocondo have been married for 57 years and living in Rome since 1963. From 1996 to Giocondo at the age of 66 years was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and for this he was put on the pension from his job. The disease progressed slowly, but in 2005 Giocondo was diagnosed with prostate cancer and after surgery, including Parkinson's disease worsened significantly. Within months, his movements were increasingly slowed down and had to use a crutch to walk. Then he had to go from crutches to a walker and now from October 2011 he is bedridden. With great love for Dora is always near and although she has several illnesses (he would need a prosthetic knee surgery), has never wanted to let others take charge of her husband or that he was admitted to a nursing home. She always repeats: tell me in what place can be better than here? Here he is taking like a king! Since, however Giocondo was confined to bed, Dora is due recurs for several hours a week help of a caregiver. Dora is a believing woman and always hope as you say, that with the help of our lord things over time a little better.
