Shereen Jan~ During the invasion of Parwan Province by the Taliban, the house she and her family were living in was hit by a cannon rocket. Her husband was killed and her leg was paralyzed. She and her six children escaped to Panshir. She lives with her daughter and her children. We met Said Zaker Hussin and his wife Razia today. They lived in Tukamon until 1997. There was heavy fighting going on in the north of Afghanistan between The Northern Alliance and the Taliban. Six months after moving to Kabul Zaker was arrested by the Taliban and put him in prison beating and torturing him for almost two months. When he was released he could walk but not very well and he could barely speak. He gradually became worse and then in 2008 he completely lost his speech and now is unable to move without assistance. On my return trip, I found that Zaker had passed.
