Every day across America, identities are forged and given. They are passed down by parents teaching their children how to dress, what to look at, where to be. They are governed by the reach of the roads and circumstances they’re raised in. And they are determined by a history that is not far past. In a time when America is represented in such polarizing extremes, I wanted to step back. What can be revealed in our daily experiences? These photographs are an exploration of modern Americans diverging from the classic American identity through environment, history and action.
