Walking the riverbank in search of rising fish is the dream ending of the day for many Montana anglers. In late June, before the sun sets around 10pm and the wind dies down, a warm beam of light illuminates the countryside and the river comes alive. Recently, I followed a flyfisherman to the river and watched him carefully walk the bank searching for telltale signs of rising fish on the water's surface. Just before dark he landed (and released) a large brown trout. A dream ending to a beautiful day.
