A photo documentary of seniors aging in poverty in developing countries like Nepal. The life expectancy of everyone around the world is rising due to improved health care. As a result, the number of senior citizens in the world is increasing day by day. People in this group are especially vulnerable physiologically, psychologically, economically, and socially. In the past, seniors are highly respected in many ancient cultures where extended families all live less than one roof. But as the world change and become modernized and urbanized, the nucleus family structure has become more common. This new lifestyle and the changing attitude of the new generation towards senior citizens have made them more vulnerable as they aged. The care and respect that they deserve are gone. They are often forgotten if not neglected, either abandoned by their families, or their families cannot support them and/or they are a disgraced due to their age of disabilities. Conditions for these seniors are not good in developing countries like Nepal where there are little government policies to protect this group of people. With little affordable government registered seniors’ homes and many operating in poor conditions lacking in food and hygienic conditions making them even more vulnerable. This problem is especially rampant among the poor.
