This series was photographed in a swimming hole deep in the earth that was used for human sacrifice for hundreds of years by an ancient culture. Today thousands of tourists on holiday, go for swims in these deep inky waters. I was drawn to the visual and allegorical contradictions going on here. Light and dark, levity and gravity, and, of course. . .sink or swim.
