Investigation of the identity issues of younger generation in post-Soviet countries in connection with transforming urban environment.

Story

Emotional rhytm and the way of thinking is always
connected to the surrounding landscape. Ukraine,
Russia, Belarus and Moldova. Nature may be different
but the urbanscape is quite the same: block
neighborhoods raised by Soviet constructors and
workers in 70s and 80s. After the collapse of Soviet Union
the whole generation has grown up among
the artifacts from Soviet times. These people have
problems with with estimating the past and dealing
with their environment. This gives rise to estrangement,
social desolation and unclear vision of the future.
Issues of cultural identity are still vague and
complicated. Synchronicity as I picture it here
is an effort to find the symbolic connection between
what’s happening in people’s minds and their
surroundings. Try to figure out how transformation of
environment affects the individual perception of life
and then give a more versatile vision of post-Soviet reality.
