Burning Them series talks about change. People tend to resist change; it can be difficult to accept even when necessary. In Burning Them series, I looked for people who find themselves in a crossroad, ready for a significant change in their lives. I asked them to burn something important, something that carries memories that one wants or needs to forget to be able to move on. Burning those memories became a ritual like moment that I captured with my images, a kind of rebirth and new beginning to these people. Moving on is possible only by letting go of something. My pictures have their foundations in the everyday life of the people I meet. I portray people I know or meet along the way, based on what they have shared with me before we take the picture.
