The time I spent as a young European traveling across America defamiliarized me from my own cultural point of view. Finding myself in the source-material which I recognized from Hollywood; suddenly finding myself between the line that violently separates the illusory poles of reality and fiction, I now years later am pulled like a red thread through the 4th wall my camera‘s lens. Like strangers acquaint-anted, I create theatrical worlds of tension and release, their stories layered between broken landscapes and staged spaces. The associative impact has for me at once an atmospheric density, yet an arresting invasiveness of perspective. The protagonist/antagonist becomes a split identity rising and falling from my own life story, as I now become an American myself, crossing over like the tenuous line between the TV size of film, and the panorama of reality.
