"Birth of a Ship" is a book about building a wooden boat in a local yacht marina in Split, Croatia. This is much more than a documentary project. I wanted to convey the intoxicating aroma of wood and the spirituality of the place; to accentuate the difference between two man-made objects - the wooden boat and the concrete hangar, both strangely beautiful when superimposed upon each other.
