These images first appeared on Instagram. Although they were originally shot on an iPhone and have been cropped to a square, they were not run through the instagram filters.
I’m mainly interested in exploring the rich emotional landscape of sadness and loss and the powerful feelings that are associated with pain and heartbreak. This is an excerpt from a much larger series of emotionally driven images and words about a fictional couple and the trauma that percolates just below the surface of their lives. Each image has a corresponding single sentence printed underneath. The connections are subtle and ambiguous, allowing the viewer to invent his or her own personal interpretation of the situation.
